The area is home to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, the Volleyball Hall of Fame, the Springfield Falcons AHL hockey team and a long list of NCAA college teams. We take pride in our local college sports teams: the Amherst Lord Jeff’s Men’s Basketball team was the Division 3 National Champions in 2007 and our UMass Amherst Football Minutemen went to the National Championships in 2006.

The Massachusetts Youth Soccer Tournament of Champions is held in Amherst each year in June. In 2007, the Hampton Inn hosted the Abington Girls Under 12 Soccer Team – the 2007 Massachusetts State Champions!!
